Jakarta — PT Pertamina (Persero) is ensuring that national fuel supplies remain secure by optimising distribution, following reports of queues at fuel stations in several regions.

Vice President of Corporate Communication Muhammad Baron stated that the company continues to monitor distribution developments and optimise fuel distribution to meet public demand.

“Pertamina continues to monitor international geopolitical developments and strives to provide fuel nationally to meet public needs,” Baron said.

He added that fuel distribution from fuel terminals to petrol stations continues and is being intensively monitored by Pertamina in coordination with the government and relevant authorities.

Regarding the fuel queues occurring in several areas, Baron explained that such conditions are generally influenced by increased consumer demand at specific times or purchases made simultaneously. “Pertamina continues to optimise distribution, including additional supplies when necessary, to ensure public needs are met adequately,” he said.

Pertamina also urged the public to remain calm and purchase fuel and liquefied petroleum gas in line with their needs, in accordance with the government’s appeal to conserve energy. “In accordance with the government’s appeal to the public to conserve fuel and LPG whilst remaining calm and making purchases according to their needs,” Baron stated.

Meanwhile, Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Roberth MV Dumatubun urged the public not to worry about fuel availability during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period. He noted that Pertamina has been building up fuel stocks well in advance of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

“The public need not worry about energy shortages during Eid al-Fitr. Fuel availability has been built up well before the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period,” he said.

He also urged the public not to be influenced by misinformation or hoaxes that could cause panic buying. “Pertamina also urges the public to conserve fuel, use energy appropriately, and take energy-saving measures in daily life,” he added.
