PT Pertamina (Persero) has relaunched its Mudik Bersama (Joint Homecoming) programme in 2026 under the theme “Safe Mudik, Shared Hope”. The company is sending more than 5,000 homebound travellers to 23 destinations across Java Island, deploying 153 buses in total.

The send-off of mudik participants took place at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah gate 3 in Jakarta on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

The Mudik Bersama programme is one of Pertamina’s commitments to supporting smooth public mobility ahead of Eid al-Fitr, whilst ensuring that the homecoming journey is safe, comfortable, and filled with joy for all participants.

Pertamina’s Chief Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan stated that the programme demonstrates the company’s concern for the public who wish to celebrate Eid with their families in their hometowns.

“I appreciate all Pertamina officers who have worked hard to organise this highly beneficial programme for our community. Mudik is not merely a journey home, but a journey that carries the heart to meet with family in one’s own village,” Iriawan said in a press statement.

He added that the Mudik Bersama activity also reflects the spirit of unity and mutual cooperation, which are important values in Indonesian cultural traditions, particularly during the Eid season.

On the same occasion, Pertamina’s Deputy President Director Oki Muraza stated that the mudik tradition holds profound meaning for the Indonesian public. Therefore, Pertamina wishes to provide support so that the journey home can take place safely and comfortably.

“Mudik is not merely a journey home to one’s village. Mudik is longing set in motion, joy that we celebrate together, and kinship bonds that must always be strengthened,” Oki said.

According to him, for Pertamina, the Mudik Bersama programme is a tangible expression of the company’s commitment to be present during special moments for the Indonesian public.

In line with the theme “Safe Mudik, Shared Hope”, Pertamina is also collaborating with various partners to realise a safe, comfortable, and blessed journey for all participants. This collaboration includes support for transportation fleets and the provision of various support facilities throughout the activity.

“We are providing 153 buses to serve 23 destinations across Java Island with a total of over 5,000 participants, including the general public and workers within Pertamina,” Oki explained.

Beyond the transportation fleet, Pertamina has also prepared several facilities to enhance participant comfort during the departure process. These facilities include rest areas for travellers, children’s play areas, and catering for all participants.

Furthermore, Oki stated that this activity is not merely a ceremony to send off homebound travellers, but also a symbol of hope for thousands of people who wish to reunite with their loved ones.

He also expressed appreciation to all partners who have contributed to the success of Pertamina’s Mudik Bersama programme this year.

“We express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all partners who have worked hard. This dedication proves that Pertamina not only supplies energy to the nation, but also brings the energy of happiness to the public,” Oki concluded.

Through the 2026 Mudik Bersama programme, Pertamina hopes to provide tangible benefits to the public whilst strengthening the spirit of unity in welcoming Eid al-Fitr. The programme is also part of Pertamina’s commitment to continue supporting various public needs, including during important moments such as the Eid homecoming tradition.
