Pertamina Sends Motorcycle Communities to the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia
In anticipation of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, PT Pertamina (Persero) has organised the ‘Touring to Mandalika’ event, involving 120 riders from various two-wheel communities. This overland journey from Jakarta to the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, aims to foster brotherhood among communities, provide energy education, and offer an overnight experience at the Pertamina Camping Ground area.
Preparations and the official send-off took place at the Lubricants Technology Centre in North Jakarta on Saturday (3/10). The event featured symbolic oil changes and the distribution of riding gear, including Pertamina Enduro lubricants, Pertamax Turbo fuel, helmets, and safety vests, to participant representatives.
Muhammad Baron, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persamen), stated that this activity is a tangible way to engage the public and automotive enthusiasts, allowing them to experience the atmosphere of a world-class racing event firsthand.
“We want community members to not only be spectators but to be part of the journey itself. Through Touring to Mandalika, communities can enjoy the beauty of the Indonesian routes, experience the performance of Pertamina products on the road, and see closely how the energy they use daily is produced,” Baron said in a written statement.
All participants underwent intensive health checks, safety procedure briefings, and vehicle roadworthiness inspections before departing. Utilising Pertamax Turbo fuel and Pertamina Enduro lubricants, the motorcycles featured the distinctive livery of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team.
Beyond a mere journey, the event serves as a product quality demonstration (road test) for Pertamina Lubricants. Samples of the lubricants used across various motorcycle brands and types will be collected after the trip for testing at the Oil Clinic, the most comprehensive lubricant testing and analysis facility located at the Pertamina Lubricants Lubricants Technology Centre (LTC). The data from these used oil tests will serve as a foundation for research in developing future Pertamina lubricant innovations.
As the convoy travels across various islands, the group is scheduled to stop at the Balongan Refinery and several Pertamina operational facilities to observe the fuel and lubricant processing operations directly. Participants are also equipped to use digital transaction features via the MyPertamina application throughout the touring route.
The group is expected to arrive in Lombok on 8 October 2026 and will stay at the Pertamina Camping Ground, specifically prepared within the circuit area and managed by Patra Jasa. This camping experience is intended to complement the excitement leading up to the peak of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, held from 9–11 October 2026.
Tania Rusli, a participant from Bandung selected through the ‘Fuel The Moment’ campaign, expressed her enthusiasm for the journey with her husband.
“Today the motorcycles are ready, the oil has been changed with Pertamina products, and we are in peak physical condition. I pray that all 120 participants arrive safely in Mandalika, enjoy every moment of the race, and that Pertamina continues to present inspiring activities that make Indonesia proud,” said Tania.
