Tangerang — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Western Java has confirmed the availability of fuel to meet the requirements of 3.6 million vehicles transiting through Banten towards Sumatra during the 2026 Eid holiday exodus.

Fuel Terminal Manager at Tanjung Gerem, Muhammad Sori, stated in Tangerang on Wednesday that operational conditions at the Tanjung Gerem Fuel Terminal are currently running normally without any significant obstacles. Fuel distribution to all public refuelling stations is proceeding smoothly despite occasional weather-related disruptions.

“Operationally, conditions are secure at present. Mobilisation of distribution to all petrol stations is proceeding smoothly with no significant impediments,” he said.

Sori explained that based on average consumption figures from January 2026, demand for petrol products such as Pertalite and Pertamax is expected to increase by up to 9.6 per cent during the Ramadhan and Eid holiday period.

“Should consumption surge above daily averages, we implement the RAE protocol—Regular, Alternative, Emergency—with staggered supply transfers from the Integrated Jakarta Terminal to petrol stations in the Tangerang region, extending to Cikampek and Balongan,” he elaborated.

Meanwhile, Sales Area Manager for Retail Banten, Agung Kaharesa Wijaya, noted that vehicle traffic through Banten is projected to increase by approximately 700,000 vehicles compared to the December 2025–January 2026 Christmas and New Year period, which saw 2.9 million vehicles.

“Of the total vehicles, approximately 28.9 per cent are predicted to head towards Banten Province. Consequently, we have projected fuel requirements and coordinated with terminal operations teams to ensure supply remains adequate,” he stated.
