Pertamina Secures 14 PROPER Gold and 108 Green Awards from KLHK, Commitment to Sustainable Energy

PT Pertamina (Persero) has once again recorded the best environmental performance by securing 14 PROPER Gold awards and 108 PROPER Green awards from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry at the 2026 PROPER Awards ceremony held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah on Tuesday (7/4). Pertamina successfully obtained the most PROPER Gold awards, accounting for approximately 35% of the total 39 national PROPER Gold awards. Pertamina also dominated the PROPER Green awards with 44% of the total 243 national PROPER Green awards. The President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) also received the highest accolade, Green Leadership, as recognition for leadership in environmental management and business sustainability. The Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Pollution Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, stated that PROPER has evolved far beyond its original function as a compliance instrument. “PROPER is a transformation engine that drives companies not only to comply but to exceed compliance through innovation, resource efficiency, and real contributions to society,” said Minister Hanif. President Director of Pertamina Simon Aloysius Mantiri expressed gratitude for the awards received by the Pertamina Group. Pertamina presents the ‘Beyond Energy’ strategy – Pertamina’s leadership in the green energy transition and circular economy for energy resilience aligned with natural preservation. “Our strategic steps today are the foundation for a more brilliant Indonesia. Through the spirit of togetherness, Pertamina acts as a catalyst in realising the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 that is advanced, independent, and sustainable,” said Simon. Simon emphasised that, in accordance with the mandate of the Minister of Environment in Decree 129 of 2025, Pertamina has recorded a threefold increase in decarbonisation. While Pertamina has successfully improved energy efficiency, it has simultaneously been able to double the use of new renewable energy. “This achievement confirms that Pertamina is at the forefront of national energy. Pertamina leads strategic initiatives by integrating cross-sector potential to accelerate the national energy transition,” stressed Simon. Pertamina’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, stated that this achievement is concrete evidence of the company’s commitment to conducting environmentally conscious business operations. “This achievement shows Pertamina’s commitment as a world-class energy company that is environmentally friendly, with a high commitment to conducting business operations that are not only business-oriented but also provide benefits to the environment and society,” said Baron.
