Pertamina Says Global RON 92 Price Has Surpassed Rp 21,000 per Litre
VP Commercial & Shipping Business Development of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Sigit Setiawan, stated that the price of RON 92 fuel in the international market is in the range of Rp 20,000 to Rp 21,000 per litre. Pertamina has recently raised the price of Pertamax to Rp 16,250 per litre. “RON 92 in the market is priced around Rp 20,000 to Rp 21,000. In Thailand, RON 92 or RON 91 reaches around Rp 23,000 when converted to rupiah,” Sigit said during an Energy Symposium themed Energy Transition in Mitigating Global Conflict held at the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (10/6/2026). According to Sigit’s presentation, in April 2026 the upper limit price of Pertamax actually reached Rp 18,745 per litre, up from Rp 12,397 per litre in March. The increase in the upper limit was calculated based on the Market Index Price (HIP) and the exchange rate according to the general fuel type (JBU) pricing formula. The geopolitical conflict occurring since late February 2026 has impacted the increase in the JBU fuel pricing formula in April 2026. The upper limit increase ranged from Rp 6,300 to Rp 7,300 per litre for diesel and Rp 10,800 to Rp 10,930 per litre for petrol. The upper limit price for Pertamax surged again in May 2026 to Rp 20,157 per litre and increased further to Rp 20,942 per litre in June 2026. Meanwhile, during the same period, Pertamina continued to hold the price of Pertamax at Rp 12,300 per litre. “We are still holding, still trying to hold it at Rp 12,300 per litre. Pertamax Green is also like that, we were still able to hold it previously. Although as of today we have finally raised these two products,” said Sigit. Sigit revealed that Pertamina raised the price of non-subsidised fuels like Pertamax to maintain stock availability.
