Pertamina sanctions 105 rogue petrol stations in Bali

Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has imposed sanctions on 105 public fuel station (SPBU) operators in Bali between January and early September 2026 for violations, including irregularities in the distribution of subsidised fuel (BBM).

“This also reflects our firmness in taking action against any distribution institution proven to have committed irregularities in the distribution of subsidised fuel,” said Ahad Rahedi, Manager of Communication, Relations and CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga for the East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus) Regional Office, in Denpasar, Bali, on Monday.

He explained that within the Jatimbalinus region, Bali Province recorded the highest number of violations found among SPBU operators.

In East Java, 98 SPBUs were sanctioned, in West Nusa Tenggara 3, and in East Nusa Tenggara 31 SPBUs.

The violations ranged from discrepancies in the distribution of subsidised fuel, non-compliance with operational provisions, to aspects of supporting service facilities and infrastructure.

Rahedi added that the sanctions imposed were adjusted according to the results of inspections, ranging from reprimands or warning letters, temporary suspension of the distribution of certain products, to termination of business relationships.

Supervision is carried out continuously through monitoring of SPBU operations, evaluation of fuel transactions and distribution, as well as follow-up on reports or information received from the public.

When indications of irregularities are found, the oil and gas state-owned enterprise conducts inspections and takes action in accordance with the level of violation and applicable provisions.

The company also continues to strengthen supervision as well as guidance for all distribution institutions.

From January to 3 September 2026, guidance has been provided to more than 900 SPBUs across the operational area as part of efforts to ensure that service standards and fuel distribution run in accordance with the rules.

Pertamina also invites the public to play an active role in oversight. If people find indications of misuse or services that do not comply with the rules at an SPBU, they can submit a report via the number 135 for it to be followed up according to procedure.
