Pertamina reports 80 per cent of petrol stations in Makassar becoming more stable

Pertamina Patra Niaga has noted that more than 35 petrol stations, or approximately 80 per cent, in Makassar, South Sulawesi, are showing increasingly stable queue conditions, following a decline in queues for subsidised fuel.

“Out of a total of 45 petrol stations in Makassar City, more than 35 stations, or about 80 per cent, have shown increasingly stable queue conditions,” said the Acting Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, Okky Aditya Wibowo, in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.

This improvement in queue conditions is the result of coordination and collaboration efforts between Patra Niaga and the South Sulawesi Provincial Government to increase service capacity and regulate the distribution of subsidised fuel on the ground.

Several measures have been implemented, including the addition of operators and service lanes for subsidised fuel at various petrol stations, the 24-hour operation of 25 petrol stations, and the addition of distribution points through a Modular Petrol Station at the Centre Point of Indonesia (CPI).

In addition to the steps already taken, several efforts are ongoing and being optimised. The 24-hour operation of petrol stations, the addition of operators and service lanes, and the operation of the Modular Petrol Station at CPI are being continuously monitored to ensure that additional capacity is utilised optimally.

The odd-even system regulation is also still being applied in accordance with regulations to help maintain the smoothness and order of services at petrol stations.

“The waiting time for the public is also becoming shorter. Various steps we have taken are still ongoing, and we are optimising them alongside the Local Government to ensure that the condition of subsidised fuel services continues to improve,” he said.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, together with the Local Government, will continue to evaluate the queue conditions and subsidised fuel services in Makassar City. Improvement and adjustment efforts will continue in accordance with developments in field conditions.
