Pertamina Reminds Farmers and Fishermen in Amfoang to Obtain Recommendation Letters for Purchasing Subsidised Fuel

Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatim-Balinus is reminding farmers and fishermen to obtain recommendation letters if they wish to purchase subsidised fuel oil (BBM). This comes in response to complaints from residents about the scarcity of subsidised BBM in the Amfoang area, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

“For the purchase of BBM specifically for farmers and fishermen, in accordance with government regulations, it is distributed through the use of recommendation letters issued by the respective related departments,” said Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR Jatimbalinus, Ahad Rahedi, to detikBali on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

Ahad stated that Pertamina has checked the fuel stations in Amfoang and confirmed that Pertalite supplies are still available. In line with BPH Migas regulations, he added, fuel stations only serve farmers and fishermen who already possess BBM recommendation letters.

According to Ahad, Pertamina has coordinated with the Kupang Regency Government (Pemkab) to issue recommendation letters for purchasing subsidised BBM for farmers and fishermen. Following the inspection at fuel stations in the Amfoang area, he continued, no purchases of subsidised BBM using agricultural recommendation letters were found.

“Farmers and fishermen are urged to obtain recommendation letters directly from the relevant departments and not through recommendation letters from village heads or sub-district heads,” Ahad explained.

Ahad explained that the use of BBM recommendation letters is one solution to ensure subsidised BBM reaches its targets. Pertamina, he continued, is striving to provide subsidised BBM in accordance with quotas and designated sales service points set by BPH Migas.

Previously, residents in the Amfoang area, Kupang Regency, complained about the scarcity of Pertalite fuel since last week. This situation has impacted agricultural activities and students’ learning activities.

The fuel shortage has made it difficult for farmers in Amfoang to thresh rice using machines after the harvest season. Farmers have urged the government to provide a solution to the situation.
