Pertamina Provides Work Experience, 539 Interns Ready to Contribute
PT Pertamina (Persero) is pushing to improve the quality of human resources. One way it is doing so is by opening access for young Indonesians to gain work experience through the implementation of Internship Pertamina 2026.
Pertamina VP Talent Development & Recruitment Muhammad Aryomekka Firdaus said the internship programme will be an important moment for participants.
“Today is the first day our internship friends join the Pertamina Group by signing internship employment contracts,” Aryomekka said in a written statement on Thursday (13/8/2026).
According to him, this internship programme is one of Pertamina’s efforts to improve the quality of human resources while opening wider access for the younger generation to gain experience in the world of work. This opportunity is opened openly through Pertamina Talent Candidate.
A total of 539 selected participants will take part in internships across the entire Pertamina Group for one year. The participants are part of 94,176 applicants who went through this year’s internship programme selection process, a threefold increase compared with the previous year’s applicants.
“This is our effort to provide the widest possible opportunity for the public to join Pertamina, whether through recruitment or internship,” he said.
Aryomekka hopes participants can gain maximum benefits during the programme. On the other hand, Pertamina is also expected to gain new insights and perspectives from the younger generation, especially Generation Z.
One of the Internship Pertamina 2026 participants, Putri Astrian, revealed that the selection process through to acceptance took place quickly, around one month.
“I am proud to be one of the participants who passed from tens of thousands of applicants after going through the administrative selection and interview stages. To this day Pertamina remains everyone’s dream company, and I hope to gain experience and learn as much as possible during the internship programme,” said the Padjadjaran University alumna.
Pertamina’s internship programme is designed as part of an integrated and systematic work training system under the guidance and supervision of supervisors. Participants are not only equipped with skills and expertise that can be applied in the business world, but also gain real-life practical working experience through various projects and training to prepare themselves to become reliable professionals.
Pertamina VP Corporate Communication Muhammad Baron said the internship carried out by Pertamina is the company’s way of producing new energies.
“Through this internship, participants will gain work experience in a corporate environment that manages the vital interests of many people. This will certainly be a very useful experience for participants in the future,” said Baron.
Baron hopes that by gaining work experience at Pertamina, participants can improve their abilities while also developing high social awareness.
