Pertamina Provides Aid to Primary and Secondary School Students in Banyuwangi

PT Pertamina (Persero), in collaboration with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, has distributed 200 educational aid packages to primary and secondary school students through the Seragam Sekolah Bersama Pertamina (SESAMA) and Pertamina Berkah programmes. The packages included uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and cash assistance. The beneficiaries come from four foundations in East Java: Yayasan Salafiyah Syafi’iyah As’adiyah Ibrahimy, Yayasan Darussalam, Yayasan Syamsul Huda, and Yayasan Datuk Abdurrahim Bauzir. This assistance offers new hope to hundreds of recipients, enabling them to study with greater peace of mind without burdening their parents. As the new school year approaches, educational needs, which should be a priority, are sometimes overshadowed by other basic necessities. Pertamina’s President Commissioner, Mochammad Iriawan, stated that the programme is a tangible demonstration of the company’s commitment to supporting the nation’s future generation. ‘Education is the key to unlocking a better future. At Pertamina, we are present not only to supply physical energy but also to channel spirit and hope to children in need. We hope this assistance will encourage the students in Banyuwangi to study diligently and pursue their dreams,’ he said. Pertamina also provided aid to mosque caretakers and underprivileged communities around the Integrated Terminal Tanjungwangi operational area. The social activities took place during Iriawan’s working visit to the terminal, which aimed to ensure that the energy receiving, storage, and distribution facilities at the eastern tip of Java are operating optimally to support the smooth distribution of fuel and LPG. ‘For Pertamina, energy is not just about fuel that powers engines, but also about positive energy that drives the social life of the community,’ he added. ‘Through the synergy between operational reliability and social responsibility, Pertamina is committed to ensuring that the company’s presence delivers real and sustainable benefits to the wider community,’ Iriawan concluded.
