PT Pertamina’s Chief Commissioner, Mochamad Iriawan, conducted a working visit to East Java on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, stressing the need to strengthen collaborative leadership and ensure the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects as the main foundation for maintaining the company’s operational reliability.

Commencing his agenda in Surabaya, Iriawan participated in a Sharing Session with approximately 200 Pertamina officers from various entities within the Pertamina Group at the PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus office. The forum served to strengthen leadership perspectives in facing the evolving dynamics of the energy industry.

During his presentation, Iriawan noted that the energy industry is currently facing challenges including the energy transition, technological developments, and increasing stakeholder expectations. These conditions require the company to adapt amidst uncertainty. He further emphasised that the HSSE culture must be inherent and become a crucial part of Pertamina’s operations.

‘Strong leadership must be reflected in a strong work culture. At Pertamina, the HSSE culture must become part of every officer’s DNA, not merely procedural compliance. To achieve operational excellence, safety values must be internalised in every action and decision, from top management to field workers. Safe, reliable, efficient, and flawless operations reflect Pertamina’s highest operational standards,’ Iriawan stated.

Following the session in Surabaya, Iriawan conducted a Management Walkthrough to the Production Unit Gresik of PT Pertamina Lubricants to ensure operational discipline, facility integrity, and optimal risk management. Lubricant products are a key portfolio for Pertamina, providing high added value while strengthening the company’s competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. As a primary production facility, the Gresik unit plays a strategic role in ensuring the reliability of lubricant supply and supporting the development of Pertamina’s competitive lubricant business.

On the same occasion, PT Pertamina Lubricants President Director Sigit Pranowo explained that the distribution of Pertamina lubricants is supported by a network spread across Indonesia. The company currently operates seven Sales Regions from Sabang to Merauke, hundreds of distributors, and over 60,000 registered outlets, serving more than 20,000 industrial customers as part of its efforts to ensure product availability for the public and industrial sectors throughout Indonesia.
