Pertamina prepares fuel supply for Situbondo and Bondowoso from Surabaya Terminal
Situbondo, East Java (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus is optimising coordination with the Tanjung Wangi Integrated Terminal in Banyuwangi, East Java, and is preparing to divert supplies from the Surabaya Integrated Terminal to strengthen fuel requirements in the Situbondo and Bondowoso regions.
Long queues of vehicles heading towards Ketapang Port have led to increased travel times for fuel tankers; while journeys previously took approximately 8-10 hours, under certain conditions, they have extended to between 15 and 23 hours, thereby affecting the smooth delivery of fuel to Bondowoso and Situbondo.
“We understand there are queues at several petrol stations in Situbondo and Bondowoso. Pertamina continues to strengthen supplies and manage delivery priorities to ensure fuel becomes immediately available at stations in need,” said Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus, when contacted in Situbondo, East Java, on Tuesday.
He also ensured that fuel availability remains a priority, noting that stock levels at petrol stations are being continuously monitored. The public is urged not to engage in excessive purchasing, as this could increase pressure on fuel availability and lengthen queues.
As an acceleration measure, Ahad continued, Pertamina is also coordinating with local governments and all relevant parties to map field requirements, determine delivery priorities, and prepare supply diversions from other regions.
This step is being taken, he said, to ensure that fuel needs in both Bondowso and Situbondo are met while simultaneously accelerating the dispersal of queues at petrol stations.
“The strengthening of supplies is also starting to show results. Pertamina will continue to monitor petrol station stocks regularly and adjust distribution patterns based on actual field conditions and needs,” said Ahad.
“If the public finds any indications of misuse or fuel distribution services that do not comply with regulations, reports can be submitted through the Pertamina Contact Centre 135,” Ahad added.
According to observations, long queues of both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles have occurred at several petrol stations in Situbondo and Bondowoso, following disruptions to fuel deliveries from the Tanjung Wangi Integrated Terminal in Banyuwangi due to traffic congestion on the main route to Ketapang Port.
