Pertamina Pledges Compensation and Repairs for Victims' Homes in Cimuning Bekasi SPBE Fire
BEKASI - The SPBE of PT Indogas Andalan Kita, a partner of Pertamina Patra Niaga for the Western Java Region, has assured that it will take responsibility for the impacts of the major fire that occurred on Wednesday (1/4/2026). The fire incident took place on Jalan Cinyosog, Cimuning Ward, Mustikajaya Subdistrict, Bekasi City. Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina’s Western Java Region, Susanto August Satria, stated that this commitment involves coordination with local government in the handling process. Additionally, through the Pertamina Peduli programme, Pertamina has distributed logistical aid to residents affected by the fire. “Up to today, we continue to provide logistical food aid in the form of ready-to-eat meals every day,” he said. Susanto added that the handling of the two fatalities, who were employees of SPBE PT Indogas Andalan Kita, has also been followed up by the management. Police have not yet determined whether there are any criminal elements in the incident. “We are still conducting investigations. It cannot be concluded (regarding criminal elements) because investigators are still carrying out fieldwork,” said Iqbal. He added that examinations of several witnesses are still ongoing. The comprehensive investigation results, he said, will be announced after the entire process is complete. Previously reported, two people were confirmed dead due to the incident after undergoing intensive treatment. In addition to residents’ homes, several other facilities were affected, including the SPBE PT Indogas Andalan Kita area, two kiosks, one scrap metal stall, one fried rice stall, one musholla with minor damage, and one coffee shop. The affected area spans approximately 2,000 square metres. The fire also caused several residents to sustain injuries and they are still receiving treatment at several hospitals in Bekasi.
