Taufik Aditiyawarman, Deputy Chief Executive of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, has stated that the national average stock of fuel oil can meet demand for around 14 to 40 days. “It varies, because for Pertalite and Biosolar the average is currently around 15 days,” said Taufik at the DPR building in Jakarta on Thursday, 16 July 2026.

In detail, data from the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) recorded that current stocks of LPG and fuel oil total 3.61 million kilolitres. According to Taufik, this amount remains within an ideal condition.

Taufik said the distribution realisation of several fuel products has already exceeded normal consumption. He said Pertalite distribution has reached 104 per cent compared to the daily throughput (volume), while diesel distribution was recorded at 105 per cent in July.

Taufik said Pertamina continues to monitor distribution volumes daily. Although an increase has occurred, Taufik said Pertamina is still able to serve the distribution volumes. Based on projections of needs and demand, he said, Pertamina can still meet the public’s requirements for the coming months.

Taufik expressed hope that the currently available supply can help resolve the phenomenon of purchasing queues at public fuel filling stations (SPBU).

According to him, in addition to the shift in consumption from non-subsidised to subsidised fuel, the purchasing queues at petrol stations in the Sumatra region have been influenced by delays in distribution to fuel distributors. “We apologise for the inconvenience experienced by the public,” he said.

Regarding the long queues in Sumatra, Taufik said Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to increase supply and adjust distribution patterns by adding to its fleet. He added that the company is also extending the operating hours of petrol stations and distribution deliveries from depots.
