Pertamina Patra Niaga Unveils Strategy to Distribute Fuel and LPG to Remote Areas

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, the downstream subholding of PT Pertamina (Persero), continues to ensure the availability, resilience, and affordability of energy for the public. Consequently, the strengthening of energy infrastructure is being designed to meet evolving demands for fuel and LPG throughout Indonesia.

The President Director of Pertamina Patra Niability, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, explained that infrastructure must be capable of reaching all regions of Indonesia. Furthermore, a reliable supply chain is required to support the distribution of fuel and LPG amidst the challenges posed by Indonesia’s geography, which consists of thousands of islands.

“There is the infrastructure, and there is the supply chain. These are an inseparable unity, especially given our country’s archipelagic geography,” he stated during CNBC Indonesia’s Squawk Box on Thursday (4/6/2026).

Furthermore, Mars Ega explained that the company is ensuring the reliability of these infrastructure assets, as all assets have a limited lifespan. To address this, the company is conducting repairs and maintenance.

“What we must anticipate is that demand growth is sometimes much faster than infrastructure growth. This presents a unique challenge, which is why we continue to develop our infrastructure,” he explained.

Infrastructure development is being carried out not only physically but also through new methodologies, with the hope that the infrastructure will operate more optimally to provide excellent service to the community.

Meanwhile, to maintain the reliability of the supply chain, Pertamina Patra Niaga utilises land, sea, and air transport modes. These mechanisms are implemented with strict adherence to safety standards.

“Because, ultimately, we are providing energy services. Energy is a hazardous material. Therefore, the safety aspect is a major challenge that we must mitigate under any conditions,” he emphasised.

In addition, Pertamina Patra Niaga is ensuring the reliability of its human resources. Workforce reliability is essential to balance the reliability of the infrastructure.

“On the manpower side, we ensure that our personnel are fit. We monitor the readiness and health levels of all personnel running this strategic infrastructure,” Mars Ega concluded.
