Pertamina Patra Niaga Takes Firm Action Against Rogue Tanker Drivers
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has affirmed its commitment to maintaining reliable fuel distribution by taking firm action against tanker drivers proven to have committed violations.
VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, said the enforcement of discipline forms part of the company’s efforts to uphold security, safety and the quality of fuel distribution services.
“We give no tolerance to any violation that could disrupt the reliability of fuel distribution. The entire process is carried out in accordance with prevailing regulations so that service to the public remains optimal,” Kitty said in an official statement on Wednesday (15 July 2026).
Pertamina Patra Niaga assured that the measure has not disrupted operations. Fuel distribution to petrol stations in the Medan area is currently running normally and fuel stocks are in a safe condition.
Moreover, Pertamina Patra Niaga has added 10 operational tanker trucks, 30 spot charter tanker trucks, and strengthened distribution personnel with an additional 34 Tanker Truck Crews (AMT) from the nearest Fuel Terminal, as well as support from 16 personnel from Bekangdam.
In addition, the operations of the Medan Fuel Terminal and a number of petrol stations have been optimised around the clock to accelerate fuel distribution to the public. These efforts have yielded positive results. On 14 July 2026, distribution reached 104 per cent of the daily target, with 149 tanker trucks operating, or 115 per cent.
Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to coordinate with regional government, security forces and all stakeholders to ensure reliable energy supply for the public.
“We appreciate the support of all parties who have helped accelerate distribution. Petrol station services in Medan are now operating normally with fuel stocks in a safe condition. We urge the public to purchase fuel according to their needs so that distribution continues to run optimally,” Kitty concluded.
