A sense of hope and renewed spirit filled the grounds of the old Pertamina building in Central Jakarta on Friday (10/7). PT Pertamina Patra Niaga supported the implementation of PT Pertamina (Persero)‘s social programmes, which share benefits with the community through ’Seragam Sekolah untuk Semua’ (SESAMA), ‘Pasar Murah Sembako’ (PUSAKO), and the launch of ‘Ultra Mikro Pertamina Aksi’ (UMiMAX). On this occasion, Pertamina distributed 1,000 school uniform and stationery packages through the SESAMA programme. The company also provided 1,000 subsidised staple food packages through the PUSAKO programme, with all proceeds channelled to orphanages and places of worship. Additionally, Pertamina launched the UMiMAX programme, which provides productive business equipment, training, and empowerment for ultra-micro enterprises to underprivileged communities. These programmes targeted various groups, including online and conventional motorcycle taxi drivers, compressed natural gas (BBG) bajaj drivers, honorary teachers, people with disabilities, public infrastructure and facilities maintenance officers (PPSU), and firefighting personnel. Assistance was also provided to underprivileged communities around Pertamina’s operational areas. Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV Dumatubun, stated that the company fully supports the implementation of this programme to back the President’s priority programmes in poverty alleviation and strengthening food security. ‘The energy we distribute every day ultimately leads back to the community’s life. Therefore, we want Pertamina’s care to be present in forms that are close to their needs, from helping children go to school, fulfilling family needs, to opening opportunities for people to build businesses and improve their welfare. We hope every assistance given today can be the start of a new spirit for the beneficiaries,’ he said. One UMiMAX beneficiary, Suwandi, admitted that the business cart assistance he received motivated him to develop his business as a source of livelihood for himself and his child. ‘Previously, I wanted to expand my coffee and beverage business but lacked capital. Alhamdulillah, this blessing came from Pertamina. This assistance means a lot to me, as I now live alone with my child since my wife passed away. Thank you, Pertamina, I hope you continue to progress and help the community,’ said Suwandi. Uke and her son Lionel, recipients of the SESAMA school uniform and equipment assistance, also expressed their gratitude. ‘Children are in their growth phase, so last year’s uniforms are already too small and we had to buy new ones. Alhamdulillah, this assistance from Pertamina is very helpful, especially for families in need like ours,’ Uke said. Similarly, Adenia, an online motorcycle taxi driver who received a subsidised staple food package through the PUSAKO programme, felt helped. ‘I am very happy because there is a cheap market and affordable staple foods. With Rp30,000, I got rice, oil, sugar, biscuits, coffee, and more. I initially found out from an online driver group and was sceptical about such a programme, but it turned out to be true,’ Adenia said. The event proceeded warmly with the handover of aid, accompanied by hopeful stories from the community members who were helped. The activity was attended by members of Pertamina Group’s Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors, who greeted and encouraged the beneficiaries.
