Pertamina Patra Niaga Strengthens Two Community Empowerment Programmes in West Java
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening two community, environmental and social empowerment programmes in West Java, namely Ngabedahkeun Walahar in Cikampek and Lentera Jiwa in Bandung Barat Regency.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Commissioner Tina Talisa said the CSR programmes are not merely a form of support, but also an empowerment effort that grows together with the community.
“Through collaboration with local heroes, village governments, communities and MSME players, we hope these programmes will continue to develop and deliver a wider impact,” she said in a statement received in Jakarta on Sunday.
As part of this strengthening commitment, the Board of Commissioners and directors of Pertamina Patra Niaga reviewed the two CSR programmes in early July.
The review provided an opportunity to see first-hand the progress of the CSR programmes being carried out together with communities, local drivers, village governments, communities and MSME players.
Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga Independent Commissioner Siti Zahra Aghnia said the CSR programmes supported by the company demonstrate how local potential can be turned into benefits for the community.
“In Walahar, we saw how waste is being put to good use. We hope innovations like this can continue and that the benefits reach even more local residents,” she said.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Human Resources Director Dewi Kurnia Salwa said collaboration with local heroes, village governments, communities and MSME players is expected to broaden the programmes’ benefits and encourage community self-reliance on a sustainable basis.
“Going forward, Pertamina Patra Niaga’s CSR will be focused on delivering greater benefits to the community, and most importantly, on how we can be present to address the problems that exist in society,” she said.
Enjang Ramdani, a resident and local hero of the Ngabedahkeun Walahar programme, said the company’s CSR programme has brought tangible benefits to the Walahar community, particularly in driving residents’ economic activity.
“Since this programme began, people’s incomes have increased and the local economy has become more dynamic,” he said.
