Pertamina Patra Niaga strengthens reliability of national energy distribution
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening the reliability of national energy distribution through the digitalisation of its ship fleet monitoring system based on Smartship technology, aimed at improving efficiency, security, and the accuracy of energy deliveries across all regions of Indonesia.
“Currently, 70 ships owned by Pertamina Patra Niaga have been integrated into the system, enabling real-time monitoring of ship operations from the land-based control centre,” said Director of Fleet Logistics at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Arif Yunianto, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He stated that the digitalisation of fleet monitoring is part of the company’s efforts to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining the reliability of energy distribution to various regions in Indonesia.
He explained that the use of the integrated monitoring system allows the company to track ship movements, operational conditions, and external factors such as weather in real time.
He described the Smartship system as an Internet of Things (IoT)-based sensor installed on ships to continuously transmit operational data to the monitoring centre.
Through this system, the company can monitor various ship operational parameters, from position and sailing routes, weather conditions, to operational indicators such as slow speed that affect sailing efficiency.
Of the total 70 integrated ships, Arif continued, 22 of them are equipped with more advanced monitoring technology, enabling more comprehensive monitoring of operational data, from ship navigation, engine performance, to cargo and bunker activities.
