Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has teamed up with PT Medco E&P Sakakemang BV to strengthen gas supply to support the reliability of the company’s refinery operations and national energy resilience. Chief Executive Mars Ega Legowo Putra, in a statement from Jakarta on Saturday, said the company would continue to undertake strategic measures to safeguard energy supply sustainability in order to meet the needs of its processing plants. This collaboration forms part of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s commitment to ensuring that energy for the company’s refinery operations can be met reliably and in a sustainable manner, he said. Through the gas supply support from Medco E&P Sakakemang, Mars Ega hopes to strengthen the national energy supply chain and safeguard long-term energy resilience. The signing of the cooperation occurred during IPA Convex 2026 in Banten on Wednesday (20 May 2026) and was conducted by Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Mars Ega Legowo Putra and Medco E&P Sakakemang BV Director Ronald Gunawan, with Djoko Siswanto, Head of SKK Migas, in attendance. The signing of the key terms sheet for the gas sale and purchase agreement with Medco Sakakemang, sourced from the Sakakemang Working Area, is expected to support the operational needs of the Dumai refinery in Riau and/or the Plaju refinery in South Sumatra, both owned by Pertamina Patra Niaga. Mars Ega added that through this cooperation, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strengthen its role as a Subholding Downstream of PT Pertamina (Persero) in ensuring an integrated, reliable energy supply capable of supporting long-term operational needs.
