Pertamina Patra Niaga Strengthens Pontianak IT Terminal for Fuel Distribution in West Kalimantan
To maintain smooth supply, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan is currently maximizing distribution through the Pontianak Integrated Terminal.
Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan is strengthening the Pontianak Integrated Terminal (IT) to ensure fuel distribution for the people of Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan, and surrounding areas remains safe and under control.
Area Manager for Communication, Relations, & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, Edi Mangun, said the distribution adjustments were made in response to the shallowing of river channels caused by declining water levels, which has affected the berthing and loading-unloading processes at the Sintang Fuel Terminal.
“To maintain smooth supply, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan is currently maximizing distribution through the Pontianak Integrated Terminal as well as managing tanker truck rotations and adjusting delivery schedules,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
According to him, overall supply support from the Sintang Fuel Terminal and the Pontianak Integrated Terminal has been reinforced with a total transport capacity of 529 kiloliters. “Therefore, we are ensuring the public’s fuel needs continue to be met,” Edi explained.
He added that the adjusted distribution pattern has resulted in relatively longer delivery times. Affected areas include Sintang, Kapuas Hulu, Sekadau, Melawi, and Sanggau regencies.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun added that the company is committed to maintaining reliable energy supply amid operational challenges. “Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to ensure energy distribution runs optimally despite facing obstacles in the field. By strengthening supply from the Pontianak Integrated Terminal and maintaining intensive coordination with all stakeholders, we are striving to maintain fuel supply resilience for the people of West Kalimantan in a safe and controlled manner,” he said.
Furthermore, according to Roberth, Pertamina Patra Niaga is also conducting intensive monitoring of fuel distribution, particularly at distribution agencies located in strategic areas and main routes, so that fuel distribution in affected areas can gradually return to normal.
