Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strengthen national energy security through reliable and integrated supply management. A strategic step in this effort is the arrival of the tanker MT Gamkonora, which is set to dock in Cilacap, Central Java, carrying approximately 450,000 barrels of crude oil to support domestic energy needs. The crude oil supply brought by MT Gamkonora will be a crucial part of maintaining the availability of feedstock for national refinery operations. The arrival of this cargo is expected to support the sustainability of fuel production to meet the energy needs of the public, the industrial sector, and various economic activities across Indonesia. Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth M.V. Dumatubun, stated that the arrival of MT Gamkonora is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to ensure the national energy supply remains secure amidst the evolving dynamics of the global energy industry. ‘Pertamina Patra Niaga remains committed to maintaining the reliability of the national energy supply through well-planned and integrated supply chain management. The arrival of MT Gamkonora is a strategic step to strengthen domestic energy stock availability and support national refinery operations so that the public’s energy needs can be met properly,’ said Roberth. MT Gamkonora previously departed from Arzew, Algeria, on 14 May 2026 before continuing its voyage to Indonesia. Throughout the journey, the vessel’s operations were continuously monitored to ensure cargo security, shipping safety, and timely arrival. Integrated supervision was carried out to maintain the reliability of energy distribution from the point of origin to the destination. Pertamina Patra Niaga has made various operational preparations to ensure the cargo reception process runs smoothly. These preparations include coordination with terminal operators, port authorities, relevant agencies, and all parties involved in the unloading and subsequent distribution process. These measures are taken to ensure the crude oil supply can be immediately channelled according to the refinery’s operational needs. According to Roberth, readiness to receive strategic energy supplies is a crucial factor in maintaining national energy security. Therefore, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strengthen coordination and operational readiness across the entire energy logistics chain to ensure every supply can be received and managed optimally. ‘Energy security is determined not only by the availability of supply but also by the readiness of infrastructure, fleets, and logistics systems that support its distribution. We continue to ensure all these aspects run optimally so that the national energy supply remains safe, reliable, and sustainable,’ added Roberth. Through planned supply management, reliable fleet support, and strong operational coordination, Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to continuously safeguarding national energy security. The arrival of MT Gamkonora is part of the company’s efforts to ensure energy availability for the public is maintained while supporting national economic growth through a safe, stable, and sustainable energy supply.
