Pertamina Patra Niaga Says Queues at Medan Petrol Stations Returning to Normal
Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut has confirmed that fuel distribution conditions in Medan and surrounding areas continue to show improvement. Various intensive distribution acceleration efforts carried out in recent days have resulted in increasingly smooth service at petrol stations. As of today, vehicle queues at a number of petrol stations in Medan are beginning to return to normal, in line with the distribution optimisation being carried out together with all stakeholders.
Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw stated that Pertamina continues to optimise the entire energy supply chain to ensure public needs are met. “Fuel distribution conditions in Medan continue to show positive developments. Queues at a number of petrol stations are starting to return to normal as a result of various distribution acceleration efforts we have undertaken with all stakeholders. We will continue to optimise operations until services to the public fully return to normal,” Fahrougi said in a statement on Saturday (18/7/2026).
To accelerate distribution recovery, Pertamina Patra Niaga is operating the Medan Group Integrated Terminal for 24 hours, adding tanker truck fleets through a spot charter scheme, strengthening Tanker Truck Crew personnel, and optimising supply from the Kisaran Fuel Terminal, Siantar Fuel Terminal, and Lhokseumawe Integrated Terminal. These efforts are supported through synergy with BPH Migas, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the National Police, local governments, Hiswana Migas, petrol station operators, and transporter partners so that fuel distribution can take place more quickly and effectively.
In addition, Pertamina continues to monitor stock and distribution at all petrol stations. If there is an increase in demand in a particular area, supply adjustments are immediately made through the Regular Alternative Emergency scheme to ensure public needs remain met. As part of efforts to ensure fuel distribution continues to improve, the Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, together with the Head of BPH Migas, directly inspected operations at a petrol station in Binjai. The inspection was carried out to observe service conditions on the ground while ensuring fuel supply and distribution to the public are running smoothly.
Pertamina urges the public to remain calm and purchase fuel according to their needs. Pertamina will continue to monitor operational and distribution conditions in the field to ensure optimal energy services for the public.
