Pertamina Patra Niaga Reiterates That Information and Narratives About a Pertalite Ban Are Not True
Jakarta — Pertamina Patra Niaga has responded to circulating information on social media about a list of vehicle brands that purportedly would be barred from using Pertalite beginning 1 June 2026. The company says that, to date, there has been no government plan or directive regarding restricting Pertalite based on vehicle brands or engine capacity, as claimed in the posts circulating online.
‘Information about a list of certain vehicle brands that purportedly may not purchase Pertalite from 1 June 2026 is definitely untrue, because there is no plan or directive from the government or regulators at present. We urge the public not to easily trust or share information that has not been verified,’ said Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun.
‘TPertamina Patra Niaga carries out its energy distribution mandate and will follow official government policies. Once again, we emphasise that there is currently no regulation or directive from the government concerning restrictions on Pertalite based on vehicle brands or based on engine capacity,’ he added.
At present, Pertalite distribution and supply services are operating normally. The Targeted Subsidy Programme is part of an effort to improve the governance of energy distribution so that it reaches the right targets, and it cannot be equated with viral information about a list of specific vehicles prohibited from buying fuel.
Pertamina Patra Niaga urges the public to always verify information through official government, regulator, or Pertamina channels before sharing information in digital spaces to avoid being influenced by information whose veracity is not yet confirmed.
