PT Pertamina (Persero), through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, has assured that the national supply of fuel (BBM) is currently secure and under control. The fuel stock, at around 21 days, represents operational stock managed within the national energy logistics system to guarantee smooth energy distribution across the country.

Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV. Dumatubun, explained that the ‘operational supply’ refers to fuel stocks stored and already meeting the national storage capacity for BBM that will be distributed to the public. The quantity of this supply is dynamic and continually updated or replenished in line with consumer energy demand.

Approximately 21 days of stock managed by Pertamina Patra Niaga is fuel stock that is normally maintained within the national energy logistics system. This stock is continuously topped up or refilled, or replenished through production at domestic refineries or procurement from imports that had been planned long in advance; regular periodic replenishment is also carried out so that the public does not need to worry about BBM availability,

She added that Pertamina Patra Niaga has an integrated energy supply chain management system, spanning from crude oil and BBM procurement, refinery processing, transportation, to distribution across various regions of Indonesia. This system ensures energy availability is maintained and accessible to the public evenly.

Reacting to global geopolitical dynamics, including developments in the Middle East region, Pertamina Patra Niaga has also taken various mitigation steps to safeguard national energy supply resilience.

‘Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to monitor global developments and has prepared a range of anticipatory measures, including diversifying sources of crude oil and BBM products, strengthening logistics and distribution resilience, optimising domestic refinery operations, and enhancing coordination with the government and all stakeholders,’

With these measures, Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures the national energy supply chain continues to operate effectively so that the public’s needs can be met optimally.

Furthermore, Roberth urged the public to remain calm and not to engage in excessive BBM purchases (panic buying). Purchasing that is not in line with need could disrupt the distribution that should operate normally.

‘We urge the public to stay calm and to use energy wisely. Purchasing BBM in accordance with need will help keep distribution stable so that all members of the public can access energy equally,’ he said.

Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to continually ensuring that the energy needs of the public, businesses, and the national economy are met effectively.

Pertamina Patra Niaga will also continue to monitor global developments carefully and ensure the strategic steps necessary to safeguard energy supply security and the continuity of service to communities across Indonesia.
