Pertamina Patra Niaga Ensures Medan Petrol Stations Return to Normal Operations

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has confirmed that fuel distribution services at all petrol stations in Medan and the surrounding areas have now returned to normal operations. The increased demand for fuel in recent days occurred alongside a rise in public activity, including the resumption of school and office routines, which drove higher mobility. VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, stated that the rising fuel consumption in the Medan area was met with an accelerated strengthening of distribution capacity to ensure the community’s energy needs are met without disruption. “As public activity increases, fuel demand in Medan has also risen by around 5 to 10 per cent compared to the daily average. We immediately boosted distribution capacity by adding tanker truck fleets, strengthening distribution personnel, and optimising operations so that services at petrol stations have now returned to normal,” said Kitty. As a measure to accelerate distribution, Pertamina Patra Niaga added 10 operational tanker trucks, 30 spot charter tanker trucks, and reinforced distribution personnel with an additional 34 Tanker Truck Crew from the nearest Fuel Terminal and support from 16 personnel from the Army Equipment Directorate. The company also continues to provide guidance and take action against disciplinary violations by all operational partners to ensure the distribution process adheres to safety, compliance, and reliability standards. Furthermore, operations at the Medan Fuel Terminal and a number of petrol stations were optimised for 24 hours to expedite fuel delivery to the public. These efforts yielded positive results. On 14 July 2026, distribution realisation reached 104 per cent of the daily target, with the operation of 149 tanker trucks, or 115 per cent. Currently, the Medan Fuel Terminal operations are running normally and the entire fuel distribution process to petrol stations is proceeding smoothly. Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to coordinate with local government, security forces, and all stakeholders to ensure the reliability of energy supply for the community. “We appreciate the support of all parties who have helped accelerate distribution. Currently, petrol station services in Medan are operating normally with fuel stocks in a secure condition.
