Pertamina Patra Niaga Ensures Fuel Supply Safe in Bandung City
Bandung – PT Pertamina (Persero), through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, has ensured that fuel supply in Bandung City remains secure and there are no shortages, thereby maintaining the energy needs of the community.
Branch Manager Bandung Fuel Zico Aldillah S revealed that the situation occurring in several regions such as North Sumatra is caused by excessive purchasing or panic buying, not due to stock shortages.
“So far in Bandung City there are no fuel shortages. What is happening in several regions is more due to panic buying, not because stocks have run out,” said Zico in Bandung on Tuesday.
According to him, panic buying occurs when people purchase fuel in quantities far exceeding their normal needs. This is triggered by excessive concern over circulating shortage rumours.
“People should purchase fuel reasonably. Because of this issue, ultimately people are buying two to three times more than their usual needs,” he said.
He assured that to date no shortages have been found in Bandung City, so fuel distribution continues to run normally at all petrol stations.
Zico also clarified public understanding regarding information about fuel stock availability that is often mentioned as only sufficient for 20 days.
According to him, this figure does not mean stocks will be depleted after 20 days, but rather the reserve capacity that is always maintained daily.
“If we compare it to a bathtub, it is impossible to wait until it is empty before refilling. Once it has reduced to a quarter or half, we refill immediately,” he said.
Therefore, according to him, the fuel distribution system is carried out continuously so that supply availability remains stable.
Pertamina has also taken precautionary measures by increasing fuel reserves up to petrol station level to cope with increased consumption ahead of Eid 2026.
“We have already built up stock all the way to petrol station level. So I believe that even with the Eid return traffic, it is very safe,” he explained.
He also urged Bandung City residents to remain calm and purchase fuel according to their needs so that distribution continues to run smoothly.
“The public does not need to panic. Please purchase fuel according to daily needs only,” he said.
