Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Kalimantan Regional office has assured that the distribution and service of petroleum fuel (BBM) in West Kalimantan, especially in Pontianak City and Kubu Raya Regency, is gradually becoming conducive, following various field efforts to strengthen distribution. As a handling measure, Pertamina Patra Niaga has intensively optimised various strategies, including ensuring the Integrated Terminal in Pontianak operates 24 hours a day, adding supply up to 140% of normal conditions, and increasing tanker truck fleets while raising delivery frequency to priority petrol stations. Additionally, distribution has been reinforced through police escorts for tanker trucks to ensure accelerated delivery from supply points to petrol stations. Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR in the Kalimantan Region, Edi Mangun, confirmed that distribution strengthening is being carried out comprehensively to ensure fuel availability remains maintained and services run optimally. “We emphasise that fuel supply in West Kalimantan continues to be increased and distributed maximally. With various acceleration efforts undertaken, the current situation is gradually becoming conducive. However, if it runs out again in a short time and queues occur, this indicates abnormal consumption patterns that we need to address together,” said Edi. Furthermore, Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening distribution on the supply side, including activating additional nozzles at petrol stations that were previously non-operational, and optimising the purchase system through accelerated QR Code activation to ensure more targeted distribution. Pertamina is also evaluating other delivery options in certain conditions to help break up queues in the field. In response to information about non-operational petrol stations for some time, Pertamina Patra Niaga emphasised that every petrol station not serving the public is a serious concern and is immediately operationally evaluated, including ensuring stock availability and service readiness. Pertamina has also urged petrol stations to remain optimally operational and is conducting stricter supervision to prevent disruptions to public services. In general, according to Edi, fuel distribution continues to run with high realisation and safe stock availability. Nevertheless, queues are still concentrated at certain petrol stations due to consumption dynamics that are not entirely normal, causing large amounts of distributed fuel to run out quickly. Edi emphasised that Pertamina, together with local government and law enforcement agencies, continues to strengthen coordination, including public outreach, and cracking down on hoarding practices and speculative activities that could disrupt distribution. Any indications of deviations will be firmly addressed in accordance with applicable regulations to ensure fuel can be accessed equitably by the public. “Along with the weekend momentum and long holiday, Pertamina Patra Niaga also ensures fuel availability at petrol stations remains maintained so the public can carry out activities, including worship, peacefully. Distribution continues to be optimised so services at petrol stations run well,” said Edi. Pertamina urges the public to remain calm and purchase fuel according to their needs. Excessive purchases not only prolong queues but also potentially hinder distribution to others. Support and cooperation from all parties are greatly needed to make field conditions increasingly conducive.
