Pertamina Patra Niaga Deploys Fleet of 345 Vessels to Secure Energy Supply During Ramadan and Idulfitri 2026
Jakarta – PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, a downstream Subholding of Pertamina, has confirmed full readiness to maintain smooth national energy distribution during the Ramadan and Idulfitri Task Force period in 2026. A fleet of 345 vessels has been placed on standby to secure energy supply from East to West Indonesia, in line with rising demand from communities and the industrial sector.
Of the total fleet, 266 ships are engaged in transporting BBM and Avtur, 27 ships transport Crude Oil, 45 units handle LPG distribution, and 7 units support the carriage of Petrochemicals and also serve as Floating Storage. The fleet distributes a range of strategic products such as Pertalite, Pertamax, Pertadex, B40, Avtur, LPG, crude oil, and petrochemical products to ensure the needs of transportation, aviation, industry and households are met during the period of increased energy consumption.
Chief Executive Mars Ega Legowo of Pertamina Patra Niaga explained that during Ramadan and Idulfitri, the effort to supply energy via sea is part of the strategy to strengthen energy distribution at the national moment of Ramadan and Idulfitri.
“As an archipelagic country, sea transport plays a vital role in the national energy supply chain. Therefore, the fleet’s readiness is a key factor in maintaining supply stability across Indonesia,” he said.
Meanwhile, Arif Yunianto, Director of Logistics Fleet at Pertamina Patra Niaga, added that sea freight operations are conducted through disciplined voyage planning, real-time distribution monitoring, and strict HSSE standards.
“To anticipate the surge in demand during Ramadan and Idulfitri, we have put 345 ships on standby operating from East to West Indonesia. This fleet is the backbone of the distribution of BBM, LPG, crude oil, and other energy products to ensure supply remains safe and timely,” Arif Yunianto said.
In addition to increasing the number of ships, Pertamina Patra Niaga is also implementing operational risk mitigation measures, including anticipating weather dynamics, rerouting of voyages if necessary, and optimising unloading and loading terminals to accelerate additional supply in regions with high demand.
In execution, Pertamina Patra Niaga also strengthens coordination with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transportation, port authorities, the Indonesian Police, and other relevant agencies to ensure smooth operational distribution of energy during the Ramadan and Idulfitri Task Force period.
Arif added that this readiness is part of the Subholding Downstream’s commitment to national energy resilience.
“We ensure all vessels, monitoring systems, and operational support are functioning optimally during the Ramadan and Idulfitri Task Force period. With solid coordination and ongoing oversight, we want to ensure the public can observe Ramadan and Idulfitri with peace of mind,” Arif Yunianto concluded.
Through strong operational synergy and comprehensive preparedness, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to maintain a reliable, safe, and timely energy flow across the archipelago.
