Pertamina Patra Niaga confirms fuel distribution in West Sumatra has returned to normal
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumatera Bagian Utara (Sumbagut) has confirmed that fuel distribution in West Sumatra has returned to normal as conditions on a number of main distribution routes improve. Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw said various efforts to accelerate distribution have been supported by increasingly conducive traffic conditions, allowing tanker trucks to once again reach petrol stations with more optimal travel times. According to him, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strive to provide fuel distribution services to the public, despite facing a number of challenges in the field. These challenges included repairs to access along distribution routes, narrowing road sections, and landslide material at several points which caused tanker trucks to require longer travel times compared to normal conditions. Despite this, he continued, Pertamina continues to optimise operational strengthening and distribution acceleration to ensure the energy needs of the people of West Sumatra are met. Fahrougi said Pertamina continues to optimise all resources so that the community’s energy needs remain fulfilled. “We are committed to maintaining the reliability of energy supply for the community. Now, as conditions on distribution routes improve at a number of points, the fuel distribution process is also becoming smoother,” he said. He explained that Pertamina continues to operate all distribution facilities maximally so that supplies throughout the West Sumatra region are maintained. To accelerate the normalisation process, according to him, Pertamina deployed 25 additional tanker trucks through a spot charter scheme to increase distribution capacity to various areas in West Sumatra. In addition, the Teluk Kabung Integrated Terminal operates 24 hours a day to ensure the process of receiving, stockpiling, and distributing fuel runs optimally. These efforts are strengthened through synergy with local governments, law enforcement officials, Hiswana Migas, and various other stakeholders, including support for escorting tanker trucks on priority routes. Pertamina also continues to manage distribution patterns, monitor stock at all fuel terminals and petrol stations, and adjust delivery schedules so that distribution remains effective during the normalisation process. As access conditions to Bungus and the Sitinjau Lauik and Lembah Anai routes improve, the travel time for tanker trucks to petrol stations is now approaching normal conditions. This has resulted in increasingly stable fuel distribution, so that the energy needs of the community in various areas of West Sumatra can continue to be met. Fahrougi added that the success in maintaining distribution reliability is the result of collaboration between all parties in ensuring the community’s energy needs are met. “We appreciate the support of local governments, law enforcement officials, Hiswana Migas, and all other stakeholders who continue to synergise with Pertamina. This collaboration is an important factor in maintaining smooth distribution, so that fuel supplies to the community can return to normal,” he explained. Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut will also continue to monitor stock conditions and fuel distribution throughout the West Sumatra region and strengthen coordination with all stakeholders to ensure energy distribution continues to run optimally. “The public is advised to remain calm and purchase fuel according to their needs,” said Fahrougi.
