Pertamina Patra Niaga Completes Docking of 12 Vessels to Bolster National Energy Distribution
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has completed the docking process for 12 vessels in the period from February 2026 to July 2026 as part of its planned maintenance programme.
VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday that the docking reflects the company’s commitment to ensuring its marine fleet always meets safety, security and seaworthiness standards in order to support the smooth distribution of national energy.
The 12 vessels that have completed the docking process consist of 2 crude oil tankers, 3 gas and petrochemical carriers, 4 product I tankers, and 3 product II tankers.
The fleet includes MT Serui, MT Gede, Transko Bima, Transko Aquila, Transko Aries, PIS Cepu, MT Matindok, MT Kasim, MT Pegadun, MT Sambu, MT Kamojang, and MT Pasaman.
“All maintenance activities were carried out at several national shipyards through inspection, thorough maintenance, component replacement, and operational testing before the vessels return to duty supporting national energy distribution,” said Kitty.
Kitty added that the entire docking process is designed so that fleet maintenance can run alongside energy distribution operations, thereby not disrupting supply to the public.
“The docking programme is a form of our commitment to ensuring fleet maintenance runs alongside energy distribution operations. Through planned fleet scheduling, we ensure the continuity of supply of fuel, LPG, avtur, and other energy products to the public is maintained,” said Kitty.
During the docking process, each vessel underwent a thorough inspection of the hull structure, propulsion system, main and auxiliary engines, piping system, cargo tanks, navigation equipment, and safety devices.
In addition, preventive maintenance was carried out, including repainting of the hull, replacement of components that have reached the end of their service life, and seaworthiness testing in accordance with maritime industry standards and applicable classification requirements.
Kitty added that regular fleet maintenance is part of the company’s strategy to ensure every vessel is always in prime condition and ready to support energy distribution throughout Indonesia.
“The reliability of the marine fleet is an important factor in maintaining the smooth distribution of energy to the public. Through the regularly conducted docking programme, Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures every vessel is in prime condition so that it is ready to support the distribution of fuel, LPG, avtur, and other energy products safely, reliably, and sustainably,” she said.
As part of strengthening the national energy logistics system, Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to implement the fleet maintenance programme on an ongoing basis, prioritising health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) aspects, compliance with maritime regulations, and the application of best operational practices.
