Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to supporting the growth and development of Indonesian children and providing quality education for future generations.

Kitty Andhora, VP of Corporate Communication at Pertamina Patra Niage, stated in Jakarta on Sunday that through various community involvement and development (CID) programmes, the company is focusing on education, character strengthening, and improving the quality of learning environments.

This commitment is realised through various initiatives within the company’s operational areas, including the ‘Rumah Anak Pesisir’ (RASI) programme in Bitung, North Sulawesi, and the ‘Tanam Energi Barokah’ (TEBAR) 4.0 programme in Cilacap, Central Java.

In Bitung, North Sulawesi, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, through the Bitung Integrated Terminal, developed RASI as a non-formal educational space that provides learning experiences closely connected to the lives of coastal children.

“With a creative and contextual learning approach, this programme encourages children to recognise their potential, foster positive character, and increase awareness of the environment in which they grow,” she said.

Chika, a driver of the RASI House, stated that through the ‘Rumah Cinta Kasih’, they want every child to experience the same right to education, love, and affection. “We believe that great change can start with small steps taken with great love,” Chika added.

Since its implementation in 2023, the RASI programme has reached more than 145 children as direct or indirect beneficiaries in the Candi Settlement area, Bitung Barat I, Bitung City, North Sulawesi. Over its two-year implementation, the programme has consistently delivered more than 20 educational and character development activities, including the Coastal Children’s Festival, Coastal Preservation Missions, local tutor capacity building, handicraft activities, and various competitions and national holiday commemorations.

In Cilacap, Central Java, the company’s commitment to education is realised through the ‘Relawan Pertamina Peduli’ (Relpi) action by the Pertamina Patra Niaga Cilacap Fuel Terminal as part of the TEBAR 4.0 Programme. Through donations collected from employees and the extended Pertamina family, Relpi distributed educational aid worth more than IDR 10 million to SD Negeri Bojong 03, Kawunganten District. The aid, which included whiteboards, printers, bins, and school stationery packages, is expected to support the creation of a comfortable and high-quality learning environment.

TEBAR 4.0 Programme Coordinator, Farras Khibban, stated that the activity is a form of care by Pertamina personnel for the future of Indonesian children. “This is a manifestation of the concern of volunteers and the extended Pertamina family towards the world of education. We hope this assistance further strengthens the spirit of children to continue learning and achieve their dreams,” he said.

Kitty emphasised that the company believes the best investment for the nation’s future begins with fulfilling children’s rights to quality education and an environment that supports character development. “Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to supporting education and building character and environmental awareness so that its presence provides real benefits to society and the younger generation,” Kitty said.

Through various sustainable community empowerment programmes, Pertamina Patra Niaga believes that investing in education is a long-term investment for the future of the nation.
