Pertamina Patra Niaga and North Sumatra Police Synergise to Accelerate Fuel Distribution

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumatra Bagian Utara (Sumbagut) and the North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumut) are strengthening their synergy to accelerate the normalisation of fuel distribution to the public in the region. The collaboration involves security support and escorts for fuel tankers as part of efforts to speed up fuel delivery in Medan and its surrounding areas. Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, stated that the police’s support plays a crucial role in ensuring the distribution process is safe, smooth, and punctual to petrol stations. “We appreciate the full support of the North Sumatra Police, who continue to synergise with Pertamina Patra Niaga in maintaining the smooth distribution of fuel. The security and escorts provided help accelerate the delivery process, so that the community’s energy needs can be met optimally,” Fahrougi said. In practice, the North Sumatra Police escort fuel tankers to petrol stations and provide security at distribution points, ensuring the process is safe, orderly, and on time. Intensive coordination is also carried out with police ranks across various areas to ensure optimal public service. North Sumatra Police Chief of Operations, Senior Commissioner Dwi Tunggal Jaladri, affirmed the force’s commitment to supporting the smooth distribution of energy as part of its service to the community. “The North Sumatra Police is committed to supporting the smooth distribution of energy through security and escorts so that fuel delivery is safe, orderly, and smooth. We will continue to synergise with Pertamina Patra Niaga and all stakeholders to maintain a conducive situation, so that services to the community can run well,” Dwi said. In addition to strengthening coordination with security forces, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut is also optimising various measures to accelerate distribution through 24-hour operations at the Integrated Terminal Medan Group, adding tanker fleets via a spot charter scheme, reinforcing tanker crew personnel, and optimising supply from the Kisaran Fuel Terminal, Siantar Fuel Terminal, and Lhokseumawe Integrated Terminal. Fahrougi noted that as a result of these efforts, operations at the Integrated Terminal Medan Group have returned to normal and fuel distribution to petrol stations in Medan and surrounding areas is proceeding well. Pertamina Patra Niaga also confirmed that fuel stocks in the North Sumatra region are at safe levels and continues to monitor stock and distribution to ensure the community’s energy needs are met.
