Pertamina partners with regional governments to ensure subsidised fuel distribution is on target

Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV Dumatubun, stated that Pertamina is partnering with regional governments, law enforcement agencies, and legislative bodies to ensure the distribution of subsidised fuel is precisely targeted.

“Pertamina continues to promote the targeted distribution of subsidised energy within the community, both through coordination and cooperation with the government, law enforcement such as the police and the military, the legislature, and regional governments in safeguarding and ensuring targeted distribution,” said Roberth when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta on Thursday.

Roberth explained that cooperation with stakeholders aims to take action against parties engaging in the misuse of subsidised energy.

He stressed that such practices must be dealt with firmly to ensure the availability of subsidised energy for those who are genuinely entitled to it.

Regarding the availability of subsidised energy supply and its distribution, Roberth said Pertamina will continue to coordinate with the government and relevant stakeholders, such as the House of Representatives (DPR RI).

Roberth referred to the hearing with Commission XII of the DPR which took place on Wednesday (26/8).

“Yesterday’s DPR RI hearing was to report, and if there are directives, proposals, and input regarding subsidy policy so that it is on target,” said Roberth.

He also affirmed Pertamina Patra Niaga’s commitment to distributing subsidised energy under the assignment from the government.

“The quota for subsidised commodities is regulated and follows the direction and policy of the government, where Pertamina will distribute it in accordance with regulations and assignments as mandated by law,” said Roberth.

The statement relates to the projection by PT Pertamina (Persero) regarding the total distribution of subsidised fuel exceeding the 2026 quota.

Pertamina’s Deputy CEO, Oki Muraza, stated during the hearing with Commission XII of the DPR on Wednesday (26/8) that the projected realisation of biodiesel distribution is more than 9.4 percent above quota, and for Pertalite it is more than 1.7 percent above quota.

Oki said the projection is based on consumption trends for Pertalite and biodiesel up to 31 July 2026. The realisation of diesel distribution reached 11.18 million kilolitres from a quota of 18.36 million kilolitres. Meanwhile, the realisation of Pertalite distribution reached 16.54 million kilolitres from a quota of 28.69 million kilolitres.

Meanwhile, the distribution of 3 kg LPG reached 5.05 million metric tons from a quota of 8 million metric tons.
