Pertamina Partners with Marine Affairs Ministry to Strengthen Energy Supply for Fishermen
PT Pertamina (Persero), through Pertamina Patra Niaga, and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) are supporting the development of the ‘Red and White Fishermen’s Village’ programme by providing and distributing fuel oil (BBM) at fishing centres, fishing villages, and fishing ports. The commitment was formalised through the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Director General of Capture Fisheries at the KKP, Lotharia Latif, and the President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, on Thursday in Jakarta.
This collaboration is part of a joint effort to ensure energy availability that supports the economic activities of coastal communities while strengthening the productivity of the national fisheries sector. Mars Ega Legowo Putra stated that energy provision is a crucial factor in building a coastal economic ecosystem. ‘For Pertamina Patra Niaga, energy is the foundation that drives productivity and encourages the economic growth of coastal communities. We fully support the development of the Red and White Fishermen’s Village as a key pillar in strengthening the coastal economic ecosystem,’ he said.
As Pertamina’s Downstream Subholding, Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to ensuring energy services reach the centres of community economic activity. The company currently operates 416 Fishermen’s Fuel Stations across various regions as energy infrastructure to support fishing activities and expand fuel access for the fisheries sector. ‘Through this collaboration, Pertamina Patra Niaga is ready to ensure reliable energy services to support the operations of the Red and White Fishermen’s Village so that it can develop into a centre of coastal community economic activity. Together with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and the Ministry of Cooperatives, we hope this synergy can increase the productivity and welfare of fishermen, while supporting the implementation of Asta Cita through strengthening the blue economy and national food security,’ Mars Ega concluded.
The signing of the agreement took place during the National Coordination Meeting for the Acceleration of National Priority Programmes in the Marine and Fisheries Sector for 2026, which was attended by Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus, Chair of Commission IV of the House of Representatives Siti Hediati Soeharto, as well as other related ministries, local governments, state-owned enterprises, and development partners.
