Pertamina Papua holds cheap food programme to help NTT earthquake victims

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku has launched a discounted staple food programme to assist communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Papua Maluku, Awan Raharjo, said in Jayapura on Wednesday that the programme reflects Pertamina’s concern for the public, particularly in the context of Independence Day commemorations.

“We want to provide a positive experience for the community while encouraging a spirit of sharing and social awareness,” he said.

According to Awan, the programme is being implemented at every petrol station, where members of the public can redeem a basic food package worth Rp150,000 for Rp100,000 using the MyPertamina app.

“The package consists of five kilograms of rice, one litre of cooking oil, one kilogram of granulated sugar, and one 155-gram tin of sardines,” he said.

He explained that proceeds from the sale of the food packages will be donated to assist communities in NTT affected by the earthquake.

“We also want to celebrate Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day together with the public. On one hand, we are providing more affordable food packages; on the other, the proceeds will be felt directly by our brothers and sisters in NTT,” he added.

He noted that in addition to the programme, the company is also holding various activities with customers at a number of petrol stations in Jayapura, Merauke, Timika, Nabire, Sorong, Ambon, and Ternate.

“These activities include the reading of the proclamation text, singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya, as well as independence-themed games and challenges prepared for customers,” he said.
