Pertamina Optimises Fleet of Ships to Ensure Smooth Fuel Distribution

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Pertamina Patra Niaga is optimising the role of its ship fleet, which connects various domestic energy distribution points, from refineries and terminals to strategic supply points throughout Indonesia.

Currently, Pertamina Patra Niaga operates 345 ships, both owned and chartered, which form the backbone of national energy product distribution across regions, including BBM, LPG, Avtur, and other energy products.

“The company has taken various anticipatory measures to maintain the reliability of the national energy supply amid existing dynamics,” said the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, the ship fleet plays a crucial role in supporting the distribution of various energy products, ensuring that distribution reaches various regions safely and on time, from the eastern to the western parts of the archipelago.

Mars Ega Legowo stated that with the increasing mobility of the population and economic activities in various regions, national energy needs, particularly for LPG and gasoline-type BBM, are experiencing an upward trend.

In this regard, according to him, global geopolitical dynamics, including developments in the Middle East region, are also a concern in maintaining the smooth supply of energy.

“We are also continuously monitoring global developments intensively and ensuring that the entire energy distribution system, including logistical fleet support and distribution infrastructure, continues to operate optimally. This is aimed at keeping the energy supply stable and able to reach communities in various regions of Indonesia,” said Ega.

Pertamina Patra Niaga is also coordinating with the government and stakeholders as a manifestation of the company’s commitment to maintaining national energy resilience amid evolving dynamics.
