Pertamina Opens Camping Ground in Mandalika for Riders’ Communities
Pertamina has opened its first camping ground at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The facility offers an alternative place to stay for riders’ communities and crew during the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026. It can accommodate up to 150 people and is intended for automotive communities travelling to Mandalika, including a group that set off from Jakarta on 3 October.
Pertamina Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita said the camping ground was one of the company’s contributions to supporting automotive communities travelling to Mandalika to watch the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, taking place on 9–11 October 2026.
“This is the first camping ground managed by Pertamina. It will be used by friends from riders’ communities,” Arya said in a statement on Saturday (10 October 2026).
Arya said the facility was intended to give visitors another accommodation option, as occupancy at lodgings around Mandalika was expected to rise during the MotoGP event.
“During the race period, it will certainly be very difficult to find somewhere to stay because occupancy here is very high. People will need somewhere to rest,” she said.
To ensure guests’ comfort, the camping ground is equipped with various facilities. Each bed comes with a mattress, pillow, carpet, small table and electricity.
Pertamina has also provided washing and toilet facilities with clean water, as well as a prayer room with ablution facilities and separate areas for male and female worshippers. There is also a dining area and a recreation room equipped with table tennis facilities.
For medical needs, Pertamina has doctors on duty around the clock who coordinate with hospitals in Mataram.
Arya said the facility was expected to provide a comfortable place for riders’ communities to rest, particularly as some would face another long journey after the race.
“We hope everyone stays healthy and safe on their journey,” she said.
Pertamina has also set aside space within the camping ground for small businesses it supports. Visitors can buy food and other necessities from the stalls provided.
The participation of these businesses is part of Pertamina’s effort to ensure the event not only gives spectators an enjoyable experience but also creates economic opportunities for local communities.
“If they want to get together, discuss things or chat, we also have stalls run by small businesses supported by Pertamina. That way, everyone benefits,” Arya said.
The camping ground has also been designed to provide benefits beyond the MotoGP event. Arya said items such as mattresses and carpets used during the programme would be donated to people living around the circuit.
“After this programme, the mattresses, carpets and other items can be donated to meet needs in the area around the circuit. In that way, they will go back to the community,” she said.
