Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Pertamina has opened a camping ground for the first time at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). It will provide an alternative place to stay for riders’ communities and crew during the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026.

The camping ground, located near the circuit, can accommodate up to 150 people. It has been set up for motoring communities travelling to Mandalika on touring trips, including a group that set off from Jakarta on 3 October.

Pertamina Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita said the camping ground was one of the company’s contributions to supporting motoring communities visiting Mandalika for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, which runs from 9 to 11 October 2026.

“This is the first camping ground managed by Pertamina. It will be used by friends from the riders’ community,” Arya said on Saturday (10 October 2026).

Arya said the facility was intended to provide visitors with an alternative form of accommodation. Occupancy at lodgings around Mandalika is expected to rise during the MotoGP period.

“During the race period, it will certainly be very difficult to find a place to stay because occupancy here is so high. People will need somewhere to rest,” he said.

To make guests comfortable, the camping ground is equipped with a range of facilities. Each bed comes with a mattress, pillow, carpet and small table, as well as access to electricity. Pertamina has also provided bathroom and toilet facilities with clean water, along with a prayer room with ablution facilities and separate areas for male and female worshippers.

There is also a dining area and a sports room equipped with table tennis facilities. Pertamina has arranged for a doctor to be on call 24 hours a day, in coordination with a hospital in Mataram, to address visitors’ medical needs.

Arya said the facility was expected to provide a comfortable place for riders’ communities to rest, as some would face long journeys home after the race.

“We hope everyone stays healthy and safe on the journey,” he said.

The camping ground also includes space for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) supported by Pertamina. Visitors can buy food and other necessities from the stalls. The SMEs’ presence is part of Pertamina’s effort to ensure the event offers not only an experience for spectators but also economic opportunities for local people.

“If they want to get together, discuss things or chat, we also have stalls featuring Pertamina-supported SMEs. So we are creating benefits for everyone,” he said.

The camping ground has also been designed to leave a lasting benefit after the MotoGP. Arya said items such as mattresses and carpets used during the event would be donated to communities around the circuit.

“After this programme, the mattresses, carpets and other items can be donated for needs in the area around the circuit. In that way, they will go back to the community,” he said.
