Pertamina Officially Conducts First Lifting of B50 Biodiesel Fuel

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is accelerating the production increase of Biosolar 50 (B50), a more environmentally friendly diesel fuel. The company recently recorded its first lifting of B50 from the Kasim Refinery on 18 July 2026, followed by the Plaju Refinery on 22 July 2026. The Kasim Refinery dispatched 4,600 kilolitres of B50 to MT Krasak, while the Plaju Refinery sent 8,230 kilolitres to the Integrated Terminal Palembang. The fuel is then ready for distribution to petrol stations across the country. VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty Andhora, stated that the first lifting represents the company’s commitment to supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita programme to achieve national energy self-sufficiency. Prior to the lifting, the company ensured facility and infrastructure readiness, and conducted quality control and safety checks. The blending process involves mixing diesel with Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) derived from palm oil, with the final product tested in laboratories to ensure it meets specifications set by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources before distribution.
