Pertamina Offers Free Emissions Testing at Fuel Stations, Here's How

PT Pertamina (Persero) through Pertamina Patra Niaga is once again offering a free emissions testing programme for the public at several fuel stations in the Jabodetabek region via the “Bijak Pakai Energi” campaign. The public simply needs to download the MyPertamina app and show their registered account to participate in this free emissions testing service. In addition to receiving a free emissions test certificate, consumers also have the chance to obtain a MyPertamina E-Voucher worth Rp25,000 and attractive merchandise directly. Through this programme, Pertamina Patra Niaga aims to encourage the public to routinely check their vehicles as a simple step in maintaining vehicle engine performance and supporting more responsible energy use. Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth MV Dumatubun, stated that the programme, which collaborates with the Environmental Agency, is part of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s efforts to raise public awareness of the importance of using quality fuel and vehicle maintenance to support better and more efficient emissions and fuel use. “Through this free emissions testing programme, Pertamina Patra Niaga wants to encourage public awareness of the importance of maintaining vehicle performance and the quality of emissions produced. We hope this programme can provide real benefits to the public in using fuel wisely while supporting a better environment,” said Roberth in a press release on Monday (11/5/2026). The free emissions testing programme is being held at 14 fuel stations in the Jabodetabek area, taking place on 9-10 May 2026 (Phase I) and 23-24 May 2026 (Phase II), targeting 7,000 vehicles in the Jabodetabek region. In the first period held on 9-10 May 2026, the free emissions testing service is available at seven Pertamina fuel station locations, namely SPBU 31.107.01 Sawah Besar Central Jakarta, SPBU 34.125.08 Jagakarsa South Jakarta, SPBU 31.124.02 Fatmawati 2 South Jakarta, SPBU 34.142.01 Boulevard Barat Kelapa Gading North Jakarta, SPBU 31.137.01 Pasar Rebo East Jakarta, SPBU 31.117.02 Daan Mogot West Jakarta, and SPBU 31.153.02 BSD South Tangerang. All services are open from 09:00 to 21:00 WIB. One Pertamina Dex customer, Andi from Bintaro, participated in the free emissions test held at the COCO BSD City fuel station. According to him, using quality fuel has a real impact on vehicle performance as well as better emissions results. “With this quality fuel, it’s proven directly; we just tested the emissions and the results were really good. Because with Dex, it’s noticeably better and also proven to be more fuel-efficient,” he said. A Pertamax Turbo customer, Budi, also assessed that using fuel according to vehicle specifications affects engine performance and vehicle emissions quality. According to him, using high-octane fuel keeps the vehicle engine cleaner and maintains optimal performance in the long term. “It has a big impact (using Pertamax Turbo), because each vehicle has different specifications. It should be worth it, right? The engine is also cleaner, so the oil change interval can be longer,” said Budi at SPBU 31.137.01 Pasar Rebo East Jakarta.
