Pertamina Normalises North Sumatra Fuel Supply, Terminals and Petrol Stations Operate 24 Hours
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is intensifying efforts to accelerate the normalisation of fuel distribution in North Sumatra and ensuring the smooth 24-hour operation of the Medan Group Integrated Terminal. Director of Downstream Optimisation and Distribution at Pertamina Patra Niaga, Hari Purnomo, stated that the company is ensuring the Medan Group Integrated Terminal operates smoothly around the clock, while also optimising the Pematang Siantar Fuel Terminal, Kisaran Fuel Terminal, and Lhokseumawe Integrated Terminal, all of which are operating 24 hours a day to support the acceleration of fuel distribution to petrol stations in the region.
Hari added that in addition to strengthening terminal operations, Pertamina Patra Niaga is also optimising services at petrol stations. A number of stations in affected areas of Medan City are now operating 24 hours a day to make it easier for the public to obtain fuel. “Currently, fuel stocks at the Medan Group Integrated Terminal are in a safe condition. To increase distribution capacity, Pertamina Patra Niaga has added 30 tanker trucks through a spot charter scheme, focused on accelerating fuel delivery to petrol stations,” he said in a press release on Thursday.
The reinforcement of tanker truck crews by Elnusa Petrofin as a transport partner is being strengthened through cooperation with the Indonesian Army’s Supply and Transport Corps to support smooth operational distribution. “We are ensuring that all distribution infrastructure in the North Sumatra region works optimally. 24-hour terminal operations, the addition of tanker truck fleets, the reinforcement of tanker truck crew personnel, and the 24-hour operation of petrol stations are acceleration measures we are taking so that fuel distribution can return to normal as quickly as possible. We are also continuously strengthening coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the distribution process runs smoothly,” Hari stated.
Hari also conveyed that there is no strike action by tanker truck crews. Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to maintaining the reliability of fuel distribution by ensuring all operational processes adhere to established standards. “We do not tolerate any violations that could disrupt distribution reliability or service to the public. If any personnel are proven not to have followed operational procedures according to regulations, the company will take firm action in accordance with applicable rules,” he added. Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to coordinate with local governments, law enforcement officials, Hiswana Migas, transport partners, and all stakeholders to accelerate the normalisation of fuel distribution in North Sumatra. The public is urged to remain calm and purchase fuel according to their needs at official Pertamina petrol stations.
