Jakarta — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has mobilised a fleet of 345 ships to secure energy supplies from East Indonesia to the West during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force period in 2026. ‘As an archipelagic nation, maritime transport plays a vital role in the national energy supply chain. Therefore, the readiness of the fleet is a key factor in maintaining supply stability across all regions of Indonesia,’ said Mars Ega Legowo, Chief Executive Officer of Pertamina Patra Niaga, in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday. Of the total fleet, 266 ships service the carriage of BBM and avtur, 27 ships carry crude oil, 45 units serve LPG distribution, and 7 units support the transport of petrochemicals and also serve as Floating Storage. The fleet distributes a range of strategic products such as Pertalite, Pertamax, Pertadex, B40, Avtur, LPG, crude oil, and petrochemical products to ensure that transportation, aviation, industry, and households’ needs are met during the period of increased energy demand. Arif Yunianto, Director of Logistics Fleet at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, added that maritime transport operations are conducted through disciplined voyage planning, real-time distribution monitoring, and strict application of health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) standards. ‘To anticipate rising demand during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, we have mobilised 345 ships operating from East Indonesia to the West. This fleet forms the backbone of the distribution of BBM, LPG, crude oil, and other energy products so that supplies remain safe and on time,’ said Arif Yunianto. In addition to bolstering the fleet, Pertamina Patra Niaga has prepared risk mitigation measures for operations, including anticipating weather dynamics, rerouting vessels if necessary, and optimising loading/unloading terminals to accelerate additional supply in high-demand areas. In implementation, Pertamina Patra Niaga is also strengthening coordination with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transportation, port authorities, the Indonesian National Police, and other related agencies to ensure the smooth operation of energy distribution during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force period. Arif added that this readiness is part of the Subholding Downstream’s commitment to national energy resilience. ‘We ensure all fleets, monitoring systems, and operational support function optimally during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr Task Force period. With solid coordination and ongoing supervision, we aim to ensure people can observe Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr with peace.’
