Pertamina, Medco may build LNG plant
JAKARTA: State-run PT Pertamina said it's in talks with PT Medco Energi Internasional, Indonesia's biggest publicly traded oil company, to build a small-scale liquefied natural gas plant in the eastern part of Sulawesi island.
The LNG plant will have a capacity of two million metric tons a year, Pertamina's Vice President Mustiko Saleh said on Tuesday. Pertamina wholly owns the Matindok gas field in Central Sulawesi, and holds an equal share with Medco on the nearby Senoro field in Central Sulawesi, he said.
"The gas will be enough for one LNG train," Saleh said. "We can sell the LNG to the domestic market or overseas to Australia." -- Bloomberg
