Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina (Persero) is continuing to mature its preparations for the hosting of MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, which is scheduled to take’ place from 9-11 October 2026.
Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina, Arya Dwi Paramita, stated that the series of activities leading up to the Pertamina Grand Prix Indonesia 2026 are being prepared to build public enthusiasm in welcoming Indonesia as a host of this world-class racing event.
“So, regarding these preparations, we are continuously moving forward,” said Arya, when met during a public viewing of the 2026 San Marino MotoGP at the Pertamina Building in Jakarta on Sunday night.
According to Arya, the hosting of MotoGP in Mandalika is expected to not only provide automotive sports entertainment but also deliver a positive impact on regional economic growth through the development of national sport tourism.
He emphasised that the success of the MotoGP event requires the support of all stakeholders, ranging from the government, automotive communities, and business actors to the general public, so that the economic benefits can be felt widely.
Pertamina continues to prepare various activations ahead of the event as part of a series of promotions and the strengthening of a sustainable national motorsport ecosystem.
One of the prepared activities is a tour involving approximately 100 riders towards Mandalika, passing through several Pertamina operational areas before reaching the 2026 Indonesia MotoGP venue.
“There are plans for several activation activities, including a tour of about 100 riders heading to Mandalika,” he said.
Through this activity, participants will gain both experience and knowledge regarding various flagship Pertamina products prepared to support vehicle needs during the journey to Mandalika.
“We will involve our operational areas that will be traversed, and our friends will gain experience and knowledge about the products we are promoting, namely Pertamax Turbo and Enduro as the lubricant,” he added.
Arya explained that Pertamax Turbo is one of the products being introduced because it is designed to support vehicle performance, allowing participants to directly learn about its specifications and benefits.
In addition to fuel, Pertamina is also introducing Enduro lubricant for motorcycles as part of an educational effort for participants regarding the importance of using appropriate lubricants to maintain vehicle performance.
Pertamina hopes that the entire series of activities leading up to the 2026 Indonesia MotoGP can increase public participation while strengthening Indonesia’s image as an organiser of international-standard automotive sporting events.
As part of the series leading to the MotoGP hosting, Pertamina organised a public viewing of the 2026 San Marino MotoGP with motorcycle communities and online motorcycle taxi drivers to build momentum for the Mandalika MotoGP.
The event was attended by more than 15 motorcycle communities, including two-wheel enthusiasts and online taxi drivers, as a form of support for the hosting of the Pertamina Grand Prix Indonesia 2026.
