Pertamina Maintains Odd-Even System at Makassar Petrol Stations

Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) continues to apply an odd-even system at several petrol stations in Makassar, South Sulawesi, to maintain the smoothness and order of subsidised fuel distribution. This policy remains in effect even as queues for subsidised fuel have begun to flatten at the majority of stations.

PPN, in collaboration with the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, is continuously evaluating queue conditions and the delivery of subsidised fuel on the ground. Out of a total of 45 petrol stations serving the public in Makassar, more than 35 stations, or approximately 80 per cent, have shown increasingly stable queue conditions.

Acting Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region, Okky Aditya Wibowo, stated that various measures to manage queues are being optimised alongside local authorities. According to him, the improvement in queue conditions is also evident in the shorter waiting times for the public to obtain fuel.

“From a total of 45 petrol stations in Makassar, more than 35 stations, or about 80 per cent, have shown increasingly conducive queue conditions. The public’s waiting time is also becoming shorter. The various steps we have taken are still ongoing, and we are optimising them with the Local Government to ensure that the delivery of subsidised fuel continues to improve,” Okky said in a statement on Monday (14/09/2026).

To increase service capacity, Pertamina is operating 25 petrol stations 24 hours a day. Pertamina has also increased the number of operators and service lanes for subsidised fuel at several stations. Additionally, distribution points have been expanded through a Modular Petrol Station at the Centre Point of Indonesia (CPI) as an alternative for the public to obtain fuel.

Okky explained that these various additions to service capacity are still being monitored to ensure they can be utilised optimally according to field conditions.

Pertamina and the Local Government also continue to implement the odd-even system in accordance with regulations to help maintain the smoothness and order of subsidised fuel services. Evaluations of queue conditions are conducted periodically to assess the needs of each station and determine necessary service adjustments.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Sulawesi Region ensures that efforts to improve subsidised fuel services in Makassar will continue in line with developments on the ground. Pertamina also urges the public to refuel according to their needs and to follow the applicable regulations so that the distribution of subsidised fuel remains orderly.
