Pertamina Maintains Energy Supply with Support from Maritime Logistics Fleet Amid Geopolitical Dynamics
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, the downstream subholding, continues to maintain the reliability of national energy distribution by considering the dynamics of societal energy needs and the evolving global geopolitical conditions that impact the energy sector. As public mobility and economic activities increase across various regions, national energy needs, particularly for LPG and gasoline fuels, are experiencing an upward trend. In this regard, global geopolitical dynamics, including developments in the Middle East region, are also a focus in ensuring the smooth supply of energy. Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strive for the availability of energy to remain stable through integrated supply chain management, including optimisation of distribution and diversification of supply sources to maintain the sustainability of energy supply in various regions. The President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo, stated that the company has taken various anticipatory steps to maintain the reliability of national energy supply amid the existing dynamics. “We also continue to intensively monitor global situation developments and ensure that the entire energy distribution system, including support from the logistics fleet and distribution infrastructure, operates optimally. This aims to keep the energy supply stable and reach communities in various regions of Indonesia,” said Ega. To support the smooth distribution of this energy, Pertamina Patra Niaga is optimising the role of the ship fleet that connects various domestic energy distribution points, from refineries, terminals, to strategic supply points throughout Indonesia. To date, Pertamina Patra Niaga operates 345 vessels, both owned and chartered, which form the backbone of national energy distribution across regions. This ship fleet plays an important role in supporting the distribution of various energy products, from BBM, LPG, Avtur, to other energy products, so that distribution can reach various regions safely and on time, from the eastern to the western parts of the archipelago. In addition, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to coordinate with the government and stakeholders as a manifestation of the company’s commitment to maintaining national energy resilience amid evolving dynamics. All energy distribution activities are carried out with strict HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) standards to ensure operational safety while maintaining the reliability of national energy distribution. Through the readiness of an integrated energy distribution system, Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to continuing to maintain the reliability of national energy supply and supporting community activities and the economy throughout Indonesia.
