PT Pertamina Lubricants continues to strengthen the competitiveness of the national lubricant business through the operation of modern production facilities. Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Lubricants Rika Gresia Wahyudi said that Pertamina’s business operates in various sectors; besides the upstream sector, fuel oil (BBM) and LPG, Pertamina also has a lubricants business for vehicle and industrial needs.

She explained that Pertamina Lubricants has its own production facilities in Indonesia. Currently, Pertamina Lubricants operates three lubricant plants located in Jakarta, Gresik, and Cilacap. Pertamina Lubricants also has one plant abroad, namely in Thailand.

“The Jakarta Production Unit plays an important role in ensuring the fulfilment of lubricant needs for the public and industry. At the same time, this facility is also part of our efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of Pertamina Lubricants products in the global market,” said Rika.

The production facility in Jakarta is the largest, with a lubricant production capacity of 270,000 kilolitres per year.

According to her, the lubricant business has a high level of competition. In Indonesia, there are more than 200 registered lubricant brands, including global and local brands.

“In the lubricant industry, competition is very competitive with many players offering diverse products and quality. Therefore, we continue to improve the quality, innovation, and competitiveness of our products in order to provide the best choice for consumers,” said Rika.

Not only meeting domestic market needs, Pertamina lubricant products have also penetrated the international market. Currently, Pertamina Lubricants products are marketed to 16 countries.

The reliability of Pertamina Lubricants’ national distribution is also supported by a marketing network consisting of 7 Sales Regions and more than 100 distributors, so that products can reach various regions of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Manager of the Jakarta Production Unit of PT Pertamina Lubricants Dody Arief Aditya said that the Jakarta Production Unit facility has used modern technology in the blending and filling processes. The application of automation technology is considered capable of maintaining product quality consistency while increasing production process efficiency.

“This modern technology guarantees product quality. With a fully automated process, the level of production accuracy can be maintained and the potential for product contamination can also be prevented,” said Dody.
