Pertamina Lubricants Provides Roadside Rest Facilities and Workshops at Multiple Mudik Routes
Jakarta — PT Pertamina Lubricants (PTPL) has established “Selasar Fastron” roadside rest facilities for homebound travellers (mudik) at multiple motorway rest areas and other locations across several main mudik routes in Indonesia.
At least 10 Selasar Fastron facilities are available for motorists to take brief rest stops and conduct light vehicle inspections before continuing their journeys. The facilities feature air-conditioned rest areas, lightweight health screening services for drivers, children’s play areas, as well as complimentary pre-dawn meals (sahur) and fast-breaking meals (takjil).
“We understand that many people travel home by car and must undertake long journeys amid heavy traffic. The presence of Selasar Fastron at rest areas is expected to serve as a stopover point for travellers to rest briefly so they can continue their journey feeling refreshed, safe, and with their vehicles in optimal condition,” said PTPL Chief Executive Officer Sigit Pranowo in a press release received in Jakarta on Monday.
Vehicle traffic volumes have increased approximately 15 per cent compared to the same period last year, demonstrating the high mobility of returning travellers using these routes.
“In such circumstances, engine oil condition becomes important as it helps maintain stable engine temperature whilst protecting vehicle components from excessive friction. Therefore, we are also providing oil change services,” Sigit added.
This year, Selasar Fastron will operate until 19 March 2026. The facility locations are:
Lampung — Bakauheni Port
Cilegon — Petrol Station 34.424.09 Gerem, Jl. Pelabuhan, Gerem, Gerogol District, Cilegon City, Banten
Tangerang-Merak Toll, Rest Area KM 43
Jakarta-Cikampek Toll, Rest Area KM 57A
Cipularang Toll, Rest Area KM 88
Semarang-Batang Toll, Rest Area KM 379A
Pemalang-Pejagan Toll, Rest Area 260B
Pandaan-Malang Toll, Rest Area KM 66A
Solo-Ngawi Toll, Rest Area KM 575A
Surabaya-Gempol Toll, Rest Area KM 753B
This will inevitably increase vehicle volumes on major toll routes, particularly during the predicted peak travel period of 18–19 March 2026, extending driving times accordingly.
To ensure safety and security during the journey, motorists are advised to stop for rest every 2–3 hours to restore concentration and reduce fatigue-related risks.
Through the presence of Selasar Fastron at multiple rest areas on major mudik routes, Pertamina Lubricants aims to contribute to travellers’ journeys by providing rest facilities and oil change and vehicle inspection services, enabling journeys home to be undertaken more comfortably and safely.
